timolol

Summary

Summary: A beta-adrenergic antagonist similar in action to PROPRANOLOL. The levo-isomer is the more active. Timolol has been proposed as an antihypertensive, antiarrhythmic, antiangina, and antiglaucoma agent. It is also used in the treatment of MIGRAINE DISORDERS and tremor.

    Richard Crook; Fiscal Year: 2001
..strategy for this disease is the reduction of aqueous humor secretion with B-adrenergic antagonists such as timolol and other drugs. Although such treatments are effective, their molecular mechanisms are largely unknown...
  12. OCULAR INSERT FOR THE TREATMENT OF GLAUCOMA
    CHARLES LEAHY; Fiscal Year: 2001
..This larger yet more comfortable design could retain a larger reservoir of the glaucoma drug, timolol, contact a larger tissue area, and be worn effectively for extended periods measured in weeks or months rather ..
  13. FLUOROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION--AQUEOUS HUMOR DYNAMICS
    MICHAEL YABLONSKI; Fiscal Year: 1992
..A basic assumption of the fluorophotometric method, that acetazolamide and timolol do not affect uveoscleral outflow and episcleral venous pressure will also be tested...
  14. HYPOTHALAMIC CONTROL OF PERIPHERAL CIRCULATION
    SELDEN SPENCER; Fiscal Year: 1990
..rate changes will be determined using selective pharmacological blockade with atropine methyl nitrate and/or timolol. The arterial pressure changes will be analyzed with the radiolabeled microsphere technique to determine the ..

  21. GLUCOSE MEDIATION OF NORADRENERGIC ACTIVITY IN VMH
    JOSEPH BEVERLY; Fiscal Year: 2005
..Further, we propose that leptin affects the sensitivity of glucose response neurons to interstitial glucose concentrations thereby altering the glycemic threshold for activation of glucoregulatory systems in the VMH. ..
