chymotrypsin

Summary

Summary: A serine endopeptidase secreted by the pancreas as its zymogen, CHYMOTRYPSINOGEN and carried in the pancreatic juice to the duodenum where it is activated by TRYPSIN. It selectively cleaves aromatic amino acids on the carboxyl side.

  16. Regulation of GABAA Receptor Cell Surface Expression
    NANCY LEIDENHEIMER; Fiscal Year: 2006
..Complementary biochemical experiments using chymotrypsin digest/Immunoblotting blotting techniques will also be used to measure receptor cell surface expression...

    Liang Tong; Fiscal Year: 2003
..features and belongs to a new class of serine protease, distinct from the classical serine proteases such as chymotrypsin and subtilisin. Therefore, a new body of knowledge is needed on this new class of enzymes...
  18. Irreversible inhibitors of cholesterol esterase
    LORRAINE DECK; Fiscal Year: 2005
..will be determined at the enzyme level by screening compounds for their rates of inactivation of CE compared with the proteases chymotrypsin, trypsin and elastase, all of which are serine proteases that function within the intestine.
