adamts5 protein


Summary: An ADAMTS protease that contains two C-terminal thrombospondin (TS) motifs. It functions primarily as an aggrecanase, cleaving AGGRECAN in CARTILAGE, and may be involved in the destruction of aggrecan in ARTHRITIS.
