Summary:
Actually she is leading the research group “Functional Body Composition and Energy Regulation”. Using observational and experimental studies this research group explores body composition and energy balance assessment and regulation, including the respective associations with performance and health-related outcomes. Key research topics comprise: a) Interaction between body composition, physical fitness, and metabolic parameters in performance and health; b) The role of physical activity and sedentary behaviors on body composition and energy balance regulation; and c) Development and validation of methods for body composition and energy expenditure assessment, including their potential application in physiological energy balance equations.
