Professor Akang has been a consultant Pathologist at the University College Hospital and a lecturer at the University of Ibadan since 1990. His primary areas of research interest are Paediatric Pathology and Neuropathology. He also has research collaborations with Oral Pathology and in the field of breast cancer.
