Summary:
Saralee Glasser is a developmental psychologist involved in health policy and service planning at Gertner Institute, the research arm of the Israel Ministry of Health. She served with the Or Yehuda Intervention Project for the Reduction of Infant Mortality for several years, both in the primary health care and Mother-Child Health care clinics, and in planning and directing community-oriented adolescent health and mental health research programs. She is a senior researcher at two of the Institutes units: Women & Childrens Health Research and the Unit for Research on the Psychosocial Aspects of Health. Among her main fields of professional interest and experience are in the areas of infant/child development, mother-infant relationship, womens health and mental health, postnatal depression, interface of mental health, community and medical services, and children at risk of abuse and neglect who are identified within the health care system. Her activity is in the realm of applied research, from identification of public health problems and issues, through research and documentation, to recommendation and implementation of policy decisions.
