He started his surgical training in Koblenz and is resident at the Department of Visceral, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the Philipps University of Marburg since August 2008. His scientific interest comprise colorectal cancer, especially hereditary non-polyposis colorectal cancer (HNPCC; Lynch syndrome). The efficiency of information and screening in families with Lynch syndrome is one of his main interests. A second scientific focus is endocrine surgery and especially secondary hyperparathyroidism including the analysis of surgical procedures and outcome of patients undergoing parathyroidectomy.
