Summary:
Dr Catherine Laprise is Professor at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi (UQAC) in the fundamental science department. Her research principally focus on the identification of genetic variants in asthma and atopy, on gene-gene and gene-environment interactions and on the study of these gene’s functions and their roles in asthma. She holds a Canada Research Chair on genetic determinants in asthma since January 2005. She is member of the Excellency Network AllerGen, the GABRIEL Consortium, the Leigh Syndrom French Canadian type Consortium and directs the Inflammation and remodeling strategic group of the Respiratory Health Network of the FRQS. She published more than 55 scientific papers and made more than 40 invited presentations around the world. She also works on several projects about monogenic diseases such as epidermolysis bullosa simplex, lactic acidosis and cystic fibrosis.
